Training Center
The instructors on staff at Iron Workers Local 60 are required to attend and complete the Qualified Instructor Certification program held at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The certification requires 120 hours of professional development courses as well as 100 hours of technical training courses in their field.
Our facility is fully equipped to train our apprentices in all aspects of the Iron Working industry. We have multiple weld booths for instruction in various weld processes, and several “mock-ups” for hands on training in the installation of curtainwall, storefronts, concrete reinforcing, stairs, handrails, and structural steel erection. Our facility also features two large classrooms equipped with smart boards for the technical and safety training aspects of the industry.
